The South Dakota Art Museum at South Dakota State University will open its newest exhibition, “Termespheres: Without Beginning or End,� with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Artist Dick Termes will speak at 6 p.m., discussing the spherical paintings in this exhibition, known as Termespheres, and his process for creating them.

The annual South Dakota State University Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 30 faculty members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.

The Rev. France Davis, pastor emeritus of the Salt Lake City Calvary Baptist Church and a prominent member of the civil rights movement, will be a guest speaker at South Dakota State University during the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Rally and Marade event to honor the life and legacy of the civil right activist.

After nearly two years of construction, the POET Bioproducts Center has officially opened its doors to the region's leading bioprocessing scientists. The new laboratory, located in the Research Park at South Dakota State University, will bring researchers from º£½ÇÖ±²¥app and South Dakota Mines together with industry partners to scale up innovative biotechnologies and varying South Dakota's economy.

A group of 37 South Dakota State University nursing students promoted healthy summer habits by holding a health fair at the Great Plains Zoo on June 16. The event, which offered the zoo’s youngest visitors lessons in water safety, sun protection and physical activity, served as pediatric clinical experience for the º£½ÇÖ±²¥app students.

Seven members of the professional staff at South Dakota State University have been honored for their quality work. The recipients were honored at the º£½ÇÖ±²¥app Professional Staff Advisory Council annual meeting in mid-May.

The acclaimed exhibition Dakota Modern: The Art of Oscar Howe  culminates its national tour in Oscar Howe’s home state of South Dakota. Dakota Modern will be on view June 10, 2023–September 17, 2023 at the South Dakota Art Museum at South Dakota State University in Brookings.

Three attractions on the South Dakota State University campus have made the cut in the South Dakota Department of Tourism’s listing of 2022 South Dakota Great Places. Among this year’s designees recognized for outstanding hospitality and customer service are McCrory Gardens, the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum and the South Dakota Art Museum.
