Swipe Out Hunger

Swipe Out Hunger at South Dakota State University is a food insecurity program where students can apply for meal swipes that can be used at Larson Commons. The Swipe Out Hunger program is open all year to current 海角直播app students.

Swipe Out Hunger for the spring 2025 semester is now Closed.

*Note that the last day to use awarded meal swipes at Larson Commons is May 9 at lunch time. After that Larson Commons will be closed.

How to Apply
  1. Students experiencing food insecurity can request meals by submitting a meal block request application.
  2. Applications are reviewed by 海角直播app's Swipe Out Hunger team. Upon approval, meal swipes are added to the student's account, and the student is notified via email.
  3. Students who receive Swipe Out Hunger meal swipes can use them until the end of the semester at Larson Commons.

Our goal is to alleviate food insecurity among 海角直播app students by providing food and personal care items to Jackrabbits who need them.

Jack's Cupboard

Food Recovery Network is a nationally affiliated organization that recovers leftover food from campus partners and donates it to nonprofits fighting food insecurity, diverting this food from the landfill. Since the organization鈥檚 founding in 2019, Food Recovery Network volunteers have saved over 1,500 pounds of fresh food and transported it in reusable containers to nonprofits at 海角直播app.

Meals are available for pick up at Jack鈥檚 Cupboard during operating hours (Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 3-6 p.m.)
